A bench, a machine, and a lot of stubbornness.

The Mendery is a small repair shop for outdoor apparel and gear. Most of what comes across the bench isn't worn out — it's got one bad zipper, one torn panel, one blown baffle standing between it and another ten years of use.

We work on shells, insulated layers, softshells, pants, packs and bags — and more. Patch work, seam repair, zipper replacement, hardware swaps and down blowouts. If it's stitched, we'll take a look — including the older or odder pieces other shops turn away.

Every request gets reviewed by a person. If we can't fix something well, we'll say so and tell you what we'd do instead. Nothing goes on the bench before you've seen a price.

Alongside custom repairs, we rebuild rescued clothing and sell it in the shop — each piece one of one, with its repair story listed alongside it.
